Focus On Schedules

This week I'm going to focus on my schedule: creating one that's both doable and liveable. And I may have a chance at success if I do just ONE thing: check emails only at certain times of the day.

Now, my daily chores take about 2-3 hours. But one of my daily chores is checking email and a lot depends on that. There have been days when it can take 4 hours just to go through my emails alone. And that's without the junk mail factor.

One thing I have learned, though. Don't rush to check email. I'll meet either one of two scenarios when I do:

1) I'll find nothing but junk mail. So it could've waited

or:

2) I'll find several emails that require long responses which translates to huge chunks of time. I check my email at least 3-4 times a day, but one way I've found to both reduce my stress and increase productivity is to wait until my daily chores are done before opening the email accounts. Then wait until my weekly project is done to check again.

That's the theory, anyway. I'll put it into action and we'll see how well I do.--mo
