More on Safelists
Okay, I know some marketers may be sick of hearing about safelists and all the new credit-based ones, etc., etc.
But I just want to add one thing to my previous posts on the subject: that is, that I was wrong.
That's right, you heard it here first. Tracker Mo was wrong about something. LOL! Well, partially wrong, anyway.
What I was wrong about was the marketers who have been wasting their time using standard mailers in credit-based safelists. As I've joined and used more and more safelists, I've found that it isn't the marketers who are wrong, but the safelist owners. . . not all of them, only the ones who don't OFFER decent credits to the free members. I think, too, it is their greed showing through. . . their lust for the big bucks. And it's ugly.
Because they obviously don't respect their free members. . . nor understand the value of their free members.
In most safelists, free members are only allowed to send mailings out to other free members, while pro, exclusive or "owner of the universe" (however they want to term the higher levels of their safelists) are allowed to send to their own level PLUS those under them. So pro can send to both free and pro; exclusive can send to free, pro and execlusive; and Owner of the Universe" can send to free, pro, exclusive and other Owners of the universe!
This ensures that the free members GET the most ads (and can send the least), while Owners of the Universe get the least ads and can send the most. In traditional safelists, this encourages everyone to join on whatever level they can so that they can send the most while not being annoyed by others' ads.
But the credit-based aspect changes this whole dynamic and many safelist owners (even ones with the new credit-based feature) don't seem to understand how that translates into practical use.
For one thing, the free members HAVE VALUE now. . . no more are they only a dumping ground for those willing to fork over $5-25 month. . . because, by clicking on the links in the emails, they can WORK for their credits and their right to send ads, too. But, more importantly (at least to those Owners of the Universe), by having the FREE members click on the links, they are GETTING TRAFFIC to their site-- an invaluable (elsewhere in this blog termed the "holy grail of internet marketing") service to the senders.
Yet many of these safelists still try to limit the free members-- and some thrwart their efforts to the point where they will definitely see an early demise (the whole safelist) because of their failure to value members. . . and their greed.
Without free members, a credit-based safelist is useless. . . because Someone HAS to CLICK the LINKS!-- and be motivated to do so! But if they aren't motivated, if they don't receive a decent amount of credits or aren't allowed to send to enough of the overall list, they will go away. . . and the list will die.
One list that consistently DOES value its free members, while still offering REAL rewards to its pro and exclusive members, is Traffic Pro List. At Traffic Pro List, free members are valued and are offered good features: 2 mailings a day; multiple saved emails; monthly credits; 25 credits per click; and lots more.
Check it out. . . it is one of the fastest growing safelists around. Oh, and I should have mentioned this earlier-- until midnight tonight (January 6th) it is offering Lifetime Pro account upgrades for a one-time ONLY payment of $24.95 Check it out.--mo
